Critters can now be found at the super gorgeous yarn store The Cat and Crow in Mount Horeb, Wisconsin. I can’t tell you how thrilled I am about this fact, but it does ensure I’m going to be mega busy in the next couple of months.

Ladies and gentlemen……..drumroll please………
On Saturday November 28th, Lulu of Lulu’s Stabby Critters will be attempting the impossible. That’s right she will be doing the impossible feat of being two places at the same time!!!! Gasp, what? who? where? It’s not possible, it can’t be done……I hear from the crowd. Well yes it can (thanks to the brilliance of her hubby) On Saturday November 28th Lulu’s Stabby Critters can be found not only at the Craftacular in Madison, Wi but also at the Bucktown Bazzar in Chicago, Il.
I’m not sure why I agreed to do 2 shows at the same time………it seemed like a good idea at the time. I mean logistically it seems possible. Mark can go to Chicago and take care of the critters there while I drive of to Madison….. easy. But what i forgot about was the fact that dividing and conquering also means dividing up the critter stock……….waaaaaaaaaaah. So needless to say I’m going to be VERY busy in the next couple of weeks……..yowzers I’m a mad woman, or at least I will be by November 28th.
The St Cornelius Fall Fest was brilliant fun……it was my first experience of an outdoor street fair and the organizers were totally on it….

I really loved having my own little tent, and it meant I could finally display mobiles………yaaaaaaaay, I’m still working on how to do that for indoor booths, but hopefully I’ll work it out this year. Alright back to work .. ……which will be tough as I’ve just discovered the brilliantly hilarious regretsy.com now I really am addicted to looking at crap.

Spiders

So I’m lovin’ my little incy wincys……I attached them to a long elasticated nylon cord so they can bounce around, plus it looks a little like web. I think they are going to be the last of my Halloweeny offerings before The St Cornelius Fall Fest which is GULP this weekend……………..waaaaaaaaaaaaa!!!!! So much still to do and organise……….yikes.
So I will add them to the shop as they are really fun to make and I wouldn’t mind making them any time of the year anyway, I guess spiders aren’t really just for Halloween anyway.

Browsing around on Etsy the other day I saw these cute egg cups

From the Peacock and the Pearl. I knew instantly what I would do with them if I had them so after hmmmming and hawing for a bit I made the purchase. And here they are now………

I LOVE these guys so much I have become obsessed with finding more feet egg cups, which has become a quest of Arthurian measure as so far none that I have seen are really quite right, either the feet are too big or too small or the wrong colour or not as nice as these ones, so far none have been just right………maybe my name should be Goldilocks?
Anyway for the moment I only have two chickens and 2 turkeys and I will of course add them to the shop.
In the meantime I am preparing for my first show of the year. The St Cornelius Fall Fest in Chicago next Saturday (October 3rd) and so I am stabbying away and trying to organise the critters ……not my favourite thing in the world (the organising not the stabbying) but it does make setting up the booth so much easier if everything is somewhat in order……….so back to it.

Little turkeys are here, I had the idea of them being place card table settings for thanksgiving……Do people still do that? If you are wondering why my piccies are a bit crappy it’s because I had to use my i phone camera as Mark has taken the good camera away with him. He’s taking part in the Single Speed World Championship in Durango and is staying in Santa Fe, gotta admit I’m a little jealous……….good god, not about the cyle race!!! but Santa Fe looks like a beautiful place I wouldn’t mind checking out sometime, although not when there’s a thousand smelly, lycra wearin’ cyclists in town.
So why the gulp? well I have 2 new shows to add to my list of upcoming winter shows, I just found out I got accepted into Bazaar Bizarre in Cleveland a 2 day show in Ohio and I am really excited about it!!! I don’t know why but I applied and then instantly convinced myself I wouldn’t get in……….talk about a doom and gloom merchant huh? I guess I should really knock that off. I also heard from the Craftacular in Madison and I will be vending there this year too …..yaaaaaaaaay I always have a good time at that show……….So my list of shows so far are
The St. Cornelius Fall Fest on Saturday, October 3rd in Chicago
The Red Sled Holiday Bazaar on Saturday November 7th in La Grange, Illinois
Craftacular in Madison Wisconsin on the 28th of November
Bazaar Bizarre on Saturday the 12th of December and Sunday the 13th in Cleveland Ohio
So not bad 4 shows (so far) I think I’m going to have to get very busy soon………….waaaaaa

booooooo….

Did my lil’ Halloween ghosties scare you? They hope so, trouble is they are just too cute to be terrifying……poor guys. I made the ghosties for my batch of Octoberie goodies I’m working on in preparation for my fall show, I still have a few more ideas I want to work on but I am starting to feel good about my quantities of Autumnal offerings and I will of course add them to the shop today.
This past weekend we went to Chicago for the Renegade craft fair. I was incredibly excited about this years show as one of the new vendors was someone who’s work I fell in love with about a year ago when I purchased some of his comic books at Quimby’s (a fantastic comic book store in Chicago). Anyway his name is Matthew Reidsma and he is awesome, so of course within 5 seconds of finding his booth I had pretty much blown my Renegade shopping money, but the original artwork I got is so super cool I’m sure I will be gushing about him for a long time to come.

Anyway here are my Renegade goodies. I bought some beautiful hand painted roving from kitchen sink dyeworks and Hands and Notions. And I’m thinking the colorways are perfect for my rotten eggs for Easter……..argh good grief can you believe it? I’m thinking of spring 2010 and it’s not even through September 2009…….how mental is that? Oh well i guess it’s good (and totally unlike me) to be prepared.

For the first time ever I’m going to do a show in October. The St. Cornelius Parish in Chicago’s Jefferson Park neighborhood is hosting a Fall Fest on Saturday October 3rd, and while it sounds like brilliant fun I don’t have much in the way of Octoberie/fall goodies……….until now

I’m loving putting little faces on everything right now (you probably guessed that with my acorn obsession)…….I guess the anthropomorphic magic is really strong in Critterville right now.
I’m of course busy, busy, busy in preparation for the show………eeeeeeeek exciting!!!! lots of pumpkins and new goodies to come too.

I recently bought some little glass votive holders, I originally bought them because I thought they looked like goldfish bowls and I had the idea of making little fish for them (it may still happen). But as usual my mind cranked into overdrive and I made this instead……….

I really like how whimsical it turned out but figured it was lacking something special so………….. I made it a little hanging basket.

I love how this looks hanging up……..and don’t worry I am already on it making different captured critters, but I will add the hedgie to the shop asap.

September 1st!!! already!!!! Good Grief……when the heck did that happen? I’m shocked.
I do love the fall, don’t get me wrong……I just absolutely hate aknowledging the end of summer, although these wee guys just might get me through it….

Oh how I love acorns, we found a giant oak tree on Sunday night that I had managed to never see before (not sure how I managed that) and the acorns are positively huge so the caps needed to be filled with a lot of wool to be convincing which of course got me thinking they looked like heads with hats on and voila……..
I want to make a million of them as they make me smile to make them and just looking at a wee pile of them makes me giggle. I turned the first batch into pins………what do you think?

Little Esther the glamor puss of the East. Do you like her shoes? Esther loves them, she was lucky enough to pick them up for a song from a house clearing event she attended…….The only bad thing is that now Esther walks everywhere her broom gets very little use at all, maybe she’ll swap it for a handbag to match.
I will add Esther to the shop if you want to check her out some more.
