yaaaaaaay, I sure hope so. Although so far I’ve thought that twice already this year only to have my hopes dashed by snowstorms and rain.
But today was glorious so I went for a very long walkie joggy thing and took my camera. Why the camera? well I wanted to take pics of boring stuff for theomegahappening.com. Even if they don’t like my pics I had such fun taking pics of inane, boring stuff. People in the park were looking at me like I had gone round the loop, as I took pics of the underside of a picnic bench and the electricity pylon shot was raising lots of eyebrows.
But I don’t care, after 7 months of cold miserable weather I am so happy to see the sun I do feel a little loopy.
And the good news is I am finally going to get a haircut……..thank god as I am starting to look like Bella my crazy cat lady.
I am going to donate my hair to locks of love though it’s long enough to do some good.

Snoopy dance……..

He is writing the great American novel.
A friend of mine keeps getting me in trouble for making stabbies that are not original to me, but I really enjoy making things that have to look like something (if that makes sense). I mean it’s harder to make something look exactly like something that people know and love than something made up. One little detail can make the little critter look completely wrong.
But I am currently working on new creations so bear with me Matt.

Another new creation. It’s scarey Papa Lazou.
I’ve always found it rather amusing that people are so scared of clowns…..maybe it’s all Stephen King’s fault but anyway here he is….

I guess he’s scary but I love him anyway.

The Intuit outsider art gallery was even better than I thought it would be, really nice gallery space and really fantastic artwork featured. They had these really cool fruits that had been carved out and dried, hard to explain but really effective. I also talked to the people in the store in the hope they would be interested in selling my work. That would be utterly fantastic, I was thinking last night how if I knew what the exhibit theme was going to be I could make needle felt specific for it. Right now in the main gallery for example is alien paintings and I could make little black and white aliens…………or not. I guess I like doing my own thing too.
On another creation note…………Do you like my mama needs new shoes bracelet?

This is Bella……
.
Bella is a bit of a crazy cat lady. She is always in her white terry cloth bathrobe and always has her gray hair up in a french twist. She has lots and lots of cats but Mr Pendlebottom is her favourite. He is constantly clawing and wailing at her to be picked up. Don’t believe me look…..

aww he loves his mama.

I really enjoyed making bella and mr. pendlebottom they took me two days in total but I put so much detail in to them. Bella is fully string jointed and she has her underwear on underneath the robe. Mr Pendlebottom has a string jointed head so he can be posed easily around Bella. I made the robe from a white handtowel.
I think I am going to make a series of characters like these guys anyone have any suggestions?

This is walter my pink pawed little ginger friend. He’s a little odd though because I made him in the style of a teddy bear. I really liked how he turned out. It gives him a primitive, folk art kind of look and that is something I think I’ll try more of.

This guy I made for fun, truth be told I had the weirdest dream a few nights ago. I was being chased by storm troopers and wookies down a long space craft corrider and everything was needle felted………weird huh? I told you I was obsessed by stabby stabby. Anyway he is pretty cool and I can’t believe he is my 30th creation.

Oooh I’m really excited because I am going here……
http://outsider.art.org/
I know I’ve been in Illinois for almost a year now but I only found out about this place really recently. I found out about it at the Winter Delights Stitching Salon in Chicago which I highly recommend to anyone who is in the Chicago area. And I really can’t wait to check it out. I love outsider art and I find it fascinating to see what other people have going on in their heads.

No no I am not (for a change) talking about my cats I am refering to these –

These came about because I so desperately need a haircut it has ceased to be funny, but I refuse to get a crappy tide me over cut like I did last time. So until I can cough up the funds for a decent cut I made these little beauties. They look really cool in my hair and I am going to make them attached to slides as well for shorter hair.

I had a really good idea last night (at least I think so) I think it’s because I’m so obsessed about doing a craft show and wanting smaller affordable things to sell in large amounts. It’s these cute little guys

My original thought was for use as bookmarks but they look really cute hanging up or just displayed. Needless to say I’m feeling happy with myself. I really want to make loads of different animals all different colours and sell them for under $10.00 maybe $6.00 to cover the wool and time. Turns out my cats like them too and they (so far) are holding up to the abuse quite well hmmmmm.
