Exciting schtuff…..
Tuesday, November 25th, 2008Yaaaaaaay I got my hotel room booked for the weekend, I had been a little worried about getting a hotel room in Chicago for the Bucktown Bazaar…….It had been a little difficult to get a reasonably priced room in Chicago for Thanksgiving weekend, and yes I am sure the hotel is beautiful! …but $325.00 on my crafter’s budget just wasn’t going to happen. But yaaaaaaay Hotwire came through for me once again (love that website!!!) so we are staying in a fantastic hotel in the loop, and I am as excited for that as the Bucktown Bazzar………..well, maybe not!!!!    But I am so excited for this weekend in everyway and it’s lovely icing on the crafting cake to have a nice hotel to schlep back to from the show……yaaaaaaaay!!!
I had a fantastic past weekend too…….we went to Madison for the first time in ages and dropped of some Christmas goodies at the wonderful Anthology.  Then headed to whole foods to place my Christmas dinner order, they do a fantastic turkey and the works dinner and it’s all basically good to go with very little input from me (thank god for whole foods). Then we enjoyed a few pints of some fantastic Belgium beer from the Monroe Street Bistro yummm. So it was a fantastic weekend and I definately felt much less like a crafting shut in for it……
So remember this weekend is the Bucktown Bazaar………hope you can stop by and say hi
the birds and the bees…..
Monday, November 17th, 2008Look a new mobile..
This cute little bug mobile is heading off to California this week and the question I ask is, is it possible to be jealous of a mobile? I guess the answer is yes…… as I am!!! we had snow flurrys this weekend waaaaaaaaa no snow!!!!!! I hate the stuff, and I am so not ready for winter.
We had another quiet weekend at home. I am still working away for the upcoming shows so every minute is precious stabby time, although we did go and see the new James Bond movie Quantum of solace………..Rrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr Daniel Craig just how hot is that man?  and for the first time in Bond history he actually looks like he is more than capable of kicking someone’s arse. Anyway the movie was fantastic and a good time was had by all………
Alright gotta love ya and leave you as it’s back to the stabby world.
A little update
Thursday, November 13th, 2008I have had some of the most brilliant requests for critter recently and just thought I’d share a few of them with you before I send them to their new homes.
It’s Shaun the sheep from Wallace and Gromit……..you guys already know how much I love Wallace and Gromit so he was brilliant fun to make, but of course he wouldn’t be complete with his buddy
Gromit who is participating in the diy craft movement and knitting a scarf (it is getting rather chilly here in Illinois)Â although I doubt he’s going to need it in his new home in Arizona (lucky dog) thanks Cheryl for the requests I hope they behave themselves!!!! Shaun is a bit of a sofa nibbler so watch out!!
A few people have asked me for gnomes so I decided it was only right and fair to add him to the shop as well.
And look a new critter box……….a lil piggy, he will be added to the shop too. I love having different critter boxes so thank you so much for the requests Carol.
And in stabby land news I’m still stabbying away in preperation for the Bucktown Bazaar
I’ll be honest this show is freaking me out a little as it is a 2 day event…………eeeeeeeeek must make critters!!!!
Woooooshh
Monday, November 10th, 2008Phew, did you see that? It was a red sled and it just went flying by………and as you might expect of a speeding red sled it was tons of fun.  Wanna see how my booth looked at the start of the day?
I hope you don’t mock me for my lack of mobiles, remember a few posts ago I was kinda smug about finally figuring out how to attach them to my booth? Â well it turns out I didn’t figure it out after all………..sigh.
I met so many brilliant crafters and I even have a new Etsy sore to covet, it’s called den10studio and Karyn’s artwork is simply beautiful, I love her Christmas cards and Markie loves her prints.
I may have to break down and buy them although I still really like the idea of sending out my own……I can tell that everyone on my Christmas card list is keeping their fingers crossed that I go with Karyn’s.
I also met so many wonderful holiday shoppers……meet my cutest customer of the day….everyone 1,2,3…….aawwwwwwwwwwwww
She was a big fan of my hairballs and critterclips……..look she has a hairball in her hair right now!!! How cute is that? It was so nice of her mum to bring her by my booth to show me the hairball in place. So yes I had a fantastic time at a highly organised show, I even had helpers to carry my stuff into the hall in the morning it was bliss. I hope they will have me again next year as I shall just show up anyway if they don’t, and that could be a little akward huh?
Just had to share this…….
Friday, November 7th, 2008Honestly how mental are cats? and that really is a rhetorical question………..check out Kirzstie
I’m trying to get ready for the Red Sled Holiday Bazaar practicing setting up my booth and persuading the critters to get packed up (not their favourite part of shows) when Kirzstie decides the table is his new den. His favourite place ever………and no I may not approach it……….what a pest!!!! I guess he likes my new table cover as much as I do.
Remember tomorrow to come see me if you are in the are in the area, I’m in the main hall booth #38 so you cant miss me and seeing as how we are experiencing our first snow of the season today (boo) and more expected tomorrow I’m thinking we will be there very early to not risk the roads.
Remember, remember…..
Wednesday, November 5th, 2008V-Day
Tuesday, November 4th, 2008I guess folks that read my blog with any kind of regularity know that I really don’t get political here……but I would just like to say Please, Please Vote…….I’m so sick of all the electionioneering that’s been going on since forever……. but this is it, the finale, the whole point of all that crap so what you reading this for? get to it!!!!!
Ok I’m over my little rant now so I will show you what I’ve been working on for the last couple of days
I loved how the elk turned out that I made for a customer last week so I wanted to make more of these lil cuties for the shop, and for the upcoming shows……I also gave each one a little collar with a real mini jingly bell attached just for that extra festive touch. I’m not sure how many of these guys I will make, so if you want one I highly recommend you snag one now…….I’m thinking of them as limited edition for the holidays.
Alchemy
Monday, November 3rd, 2008On Etys rocks!!!!! I told you how I hated my booth table covering, well I looked around for a solution and eventually came to the conclusion that I would have to buy the fabric that I wanted and…..shock horror!!! sew it myself……..gasp!!!! the horror!!!. Now I now that I can’t sew well enough to even attempt this and yes I bought a sewing machine but it really has become comfortable in it’s little nook on the dining room floor and I just hate to disturb it. So I made an Alchemy request for someone to make one for me…….
What I got was even better than I could possibly have hoped for (look she even included my little mousey) and I am so excited to use it at my upcoming shows. It was made for me by the wonderful Kellyn and I am so glad she accepted my Alchemy request.
So talking about upcoming shows I guess it’s first outing will be this Saturday at the red sled holiday bazaar
501 W. Ogden, LaGrange, Illinois 60525
I hope if you are in the area you will come on by and see just how busy I’ve been over the last few weeks.
